Bless the Lord (Psalm 103, Part 1)

As we remember the love we have received from God, may our gratitude overflow into song, thanking God for His mercy and goodness. May our redeemed hearts enter into His presence to bless Him in glorious adoration.

Remember the Lord Who is Praised (verses 1-10)

1Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
7He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:
8The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
9He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.

When He forgives sinners who repent, God takes away our sins through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Since He has restored, renewed and redeemed us by forgiving our sins, may we declare to all around us the goodness and grace of God. Since in His mercy, God cares for the oppressed, showing mercy to sinners, and understanding our weaknesses, may we faithfully serve the oppressed with God’s justice.

We praise You, Lord our God. Thank You for forgiving all our sins; for redeeming our lives from the pit, and crowning us with love and mercy. Thank You, Lord, that You work righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. You, Lord, are merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love. Fill us with Your love for the people in this county.
