Our Majestic, Mighty, and Holy King (Psalm 93, Part 3)

The Holy King (verse 5)

5Your statutes, Lord, stand firm;
         holiness adorns your house
      for endless days.

May God’s Spirit reshape our lives according to His laws. God’s holiness is our inner glory. Our holy lives, by God’s gift, are our only fit response. May God fill His holy temple, His church, with His glory (1 Corinthians 3:17). Sacred to our God is the church of Jesus Christ. May He preserve His church undefiled. May His holiness adorn His house for endless days. May we ground our faith on the eternal truth of God, our holy King.

Thank You, our Holy King, that Your statutes stand firm. Holiness adorns Your house. Thank You and Praise You, for You are our holy King. Strengthen Your church with Your holiness.

We look forward to God’s new creation, when He who is from all eternity reigns forever. May God make His dwelling among His people: Jesus Christ, Immanuel, God with us!

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm

Our Majestic, Mighty, and Holy King (Psalm 93, Part 2)

The Mighty King (verses 3-4)

3The seas have lifted up, Lord,
         the seas have lifted up their voice;
      the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
4Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
      mightier than the breakers of the sea—
      the Lord on high is mighty.

The roaring turmoil is never far from us. All around us the ungodly world rages trying to overturn God’s throne. Commotions and wars try to overthrow the church. When merciless waves try to swallow us; may we commit ourselves to God. Our mighty Lord has established His kingship. He is not subject to the powers that overwhelm us. Their tumult is in vain. God’s eternal kingdom abides in the grandeur of His power. God’s church remains immutable. The Son of God sustains her.

Thank You, our Mighty God, that in the midst of the turmoil of our world, You are mightier than any turmoil. Calm our souls, our hearts and our minds. Our Mighty God Who art in heaven, we pray to You.

Our Majestic, Mighty, and Holy King (Psalm 93, Part 1)

The Majestic King (verses 1-2)

1The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;
    the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;
    indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
2Your throne was established long ago;
         you are from all eternity.

God, our majestic King, existed before the universe that He created and over which He reigns. His kingdom is not shaken. May His reign be conspicuous in our day and may His power be displayed in His church. His works reveal His glory and strength. May we therefore proclaim God’s glorious rule. We can pray, for God reigns.

Thank You, our Majestic King, that You reign. Robed in majesty, You established our world long ago. You are from all eternity. Help us to live in light of Your majesty.
