Remember Egypt (verses 7-42)
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+106%3A7-42&version=NIV
How easily we forget God and turn to
idols—money, success, pleasure. We sacrifice our children to fashion, wealth,
and entertainment. We must not deal leniently with this idol worship. If we mix
with the world it will become our master. May we diligently plead with God for
the guilty world around us, and our own sin. Sinful life is religious
prostitution and sinfulness is as real
in God’s people as in the rest of humanity. May we grasp the power of
intercessory prayer, not forgetting the miracle of our redemption.
O Lord God do not withdraw from us. Remember
the grace You promised to sinners through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Enlighten our
eyes to see the abomination of sin. Keep us from idol worship. Help us to avoid
all manner of evil, and flee to the cross of Christ, our only refuge.
