Remembering God's Greatness (Psalm 77), Part 3

Thunder of God’s Power (verses 16-20)

At creation turbulent waters writhed before God. By parting the Red Sea God won the battle against the waters of chaos. The winds and the waves obeyed Jesus, God incarnate. May we find our relief by reflecting on God’s mighty power in the past.

Thank You, Creator-God, for Your mighty creation. Thank You for sustaining and controlling our universe. As Your flock, lead us by Your powerful hand, O Lord.

When we find ourselves distressed and complaining, may we look back at all that God has done in our lives and may we look up at God’s unchanging character. God will complete the good work He began in us. May we find pleasure in remembering God’s deeds, and telling what He has done.

He who ‘mid the raging billows walked upon the sea
Still can hush our wildest tempest, as on Galilee;
He who wept and prayed in anguish in Gethsemane,
Drinks with us each cup of trembling, in our agony.
Yesterday, today, forever, Jesus is the same.
A. B. Simpson (1843-1919)
