Prayer for
Deliverance: The Grace of God (verses 14-17)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2086:14-17&version=NIV
We
can appeal to God’s grace to deliver us from those who try to harm us. God has compassion
for the weak and sorrowful, grace for the undeserving, patience for those who
provoke, and mercy for the guilty. God will give us His strength. Those whom God
helps He also consoles, and so makes them both safe and joyful.
Gracious God,
deliver us. Thank You that You are slow to anger and abounding in love and
faithfulness. Give us Your strength. Thank You, Lord, for helping us in our struggles,
consoling us in our sorrow, and changing our sadness into joy.
May God’s
mercy sustain us even in our most severe trials. God’s character gives us confidence
that our prayers will be heard.
O use me, Lord, use even me,
Just as Thou wilt and when and where;
Until Thy blessed face I see,
Thy rest, Thy joy, Thy glory share.
