A Song of Praise (Psalm 66, Part 1)

May we sing this song of praise to God for His awesome deeds. Ultimately all the earth, the community of God’s people and individuals will join together to sing praise to God.

Universal Praise (verses 1-7)

The knowledge of God will soon cover the earth, inviting universal praise. Overwhelmed by God’s glory displayed in His deeds, the whole earth will fall to its knees to praise Him. We see God’s saving work in both the Old Testament exodus and the New Testament resurrection. Yet it is not so much what God has done, as who He is that should excite our rejoicing.

We join all the earth to shout for joy to You our God. We sing the glory of Your name. How awesome are Your deeds! Use us to invite the peoples of the world to come and see what You have done. You, Lord our God, rule forever by Your power, Your eyes watch the nations—let not the rebellious rise up against You.
