A Song of Praise (Psalm 66, Part 3)

Individual Praise (verses 13-20)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2066:13-20&version=NIV

As individuals we come to God through Jesus Christ, the divinely promised and accepted burnt offering. May we confess our sin, and then accept God’s promise to be faithful and just to forgive us. Our final expression of gratitude is for our unbroken relationship with God, which is His gift of love for us.

Lord our God, we come to Your house through the offering of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Make our public praise for Your salvation allow the people of Jefferson County to hear what You have done for us. Remove all sin from our lives and from Your Body. Praise You for Your great love for us. Praise You that You have listened to and heard our prayer and have not withheld Your love from us.

Worship is both communal and individual. As individuals we become one with the group and the group becomes one with us individuals in lament, praise, confession, and thanksgiving.

To God be the glory—great things He hath done!
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Fanny J. Crosby (1820-1915)
