May our urgent prayer for
deliverance lead us to exalt God even in difficult circumstances. When those
around us try to shame us we can turn to God. May we couple our desperate
vulnerability with confidence in God.

Internet shopping and
drive-up windows have conditioned us to get what we want immediately. We expect
the same immediate response from God. But He often seems to take time to
answer. God has not forgotten us while we wait. In our restless, impatient
society we have little time for meditation or prayer. May we slow down and recognize
our need for God’s help. May we daily cry to God for help.
God our
Father, we ask You to hasten to save us. Come quickly, Lord, to help us. Thank
You that You do and will help us. Forgive us for our impatience. Help us to
slow down and daily spend time with You in Your Word and in prayer.

Jc4Jc, we agree that our have-it-right-now society can condition us to neglect the virtue of patience and to leave little or no room for prayer and meditation. Thanks for the reminder about the need for all of us to "slow down."
