Prayer for Deliverance (Psalm 69), Part 3

Hymn of Thanksgiving (verses 30-36)

Through our difficulties we can anticipate deliverance and so praise God with hymns of thanksgiving. God will restore His people and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords, and all creation will join in singing His praises. As we praise God may we not forget the poor and needy. As citizens of God’s kingdom, may the world see God’s image in us.

Lord our God, we praise Your name in song and glorify You with thanksgiving. We sacrifice our aspirations to You. Thank You that You hear our cries. Heaven and earth praise You.

When we seek relief from a long-felt grief,
When oppressed by new temptations,
Lord, increase and perfect patience;
Show us that bright shore where we weep no more.
Nikolaus von Zinzendorf (1700-1760)
