The
Raised Son (verses 14-19)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2080:14-19&version=NIV
Our
hope of restoration lies in the raised Son of Man by whom God’s kingdom is established.
We honor God by abiding in Him, so that His vine, Christ, will provide fruit in
our lives. Christ Jesus, the raised Son of Man, delivered the world from the
dominion of sin. May we faithfully abide in Christ. In him is life, and that
life is the light of men. God shines His face on us, and brings us blessing and
deliverance, as we behold His face in its shining splendor.
Return
to us, God Almighty! Look down from heaven, and see. Have regard for us through
Christ, the Son whom You raised up for Yourself. Revive us, and we will call on
Your name. Only You can restore us and make us new. Make Your face shine on us, that we may be
saved. Make us the people You have designed us to be.
It is a thing most wonderful,
Almost too wonderful to be,
That God’s own Son
Should come from heaven,
And die to save a child like me.
William W. How (1823-1897)
