Psalm 95 invites us to
worship by rejoicing with joyful praise, revering with humble submission, and
responding with wholehearted obedience. As we kneel before the LORD we
acknowledge that He is our God and we are His sheep. May we worship Him alone.
Rejoice: Worship with Joyful Praise (Verses 1-5)
1Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2Let us come before him with thanksgiving
2Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and
extol him with music and song.
3For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
4In his hand are the depths of the earth,
4In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and
the mountain peaks belong to him.
5The sea is his, for he made it,
5The sea is his, for he made it,
and
his hands formed the dry land.
We can catch the tone of joy
in this psalm as the community of Christ-followers come together to worship God
because He is our Savior. With joyful praise and thanksgiving may we reverently
recognize His over-arching authority and supremacy. He is the Creator and
Controller of the universe. He is sovereign and all creation depends on Him.
Lord of all,
we sing to You. We rejoice in You, Rock of our salvation. We worship You with joyful
praise. You, Lord, are the great King above all gods. In Your hands are the
depths of the earth. The heights of the Olympic Mountains are Yours, the Salish
Sea is Yours for You made it. This land is Yours, for You formed it.
