How Great are Your Works, Oh God (Psalm 92, Part 1)

Praise is Sabbath work, when we cease our ordinary work to worship God. As a community of believers we have the privilege to worship our awesome God. But before we sing our songs of praise to God, we must first confess our sins to Him who is able to forgive them.

Timeless Praise (verses 1-4)

1It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High,
         2proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night,
         3to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.
4For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.

Only those who have been redeemed by our Lord Jesus Christ can sing praises to God. Nothing so blesses us as the praise which we offer God. God made us worshippers, and we can enter His holiest presence in praise. May we feel the freshness of early morning praise; then with a full range of music, we can give God the emotions of our souls. The natural consequence of God’s work in our lives is continual praise. We sing for joy because God has made us glad.

We praise You, Lord our God. We sing praises to Your name, O Most High. We declare Your love in the morning, and Your faithfulness at night, for You, O Lord, have made us glad by Your work. We sing for joy. We offer You our timeless praise.
