Living the Righteous Life (Psalm 101, Part 1)

Our worship should produce righteous living. In God’s dealings with us judgment and mercy work together. Only God’s unmerited mercy sets us free. Only through God’s deserved judgment is anyone condemned. May we live obedient lives of righteousness.

I Will Live Blamelessly (verses 1-2)

1I will sing of your love and justice;
         to you, Lord, I will sing praise.
2I will be careful to lead a blameless life—when will you come to me?
         I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.

God mixes mercy with love, soaking His justice in His mercy. His justice chastens our sins while His mercy forgives them. May we give all our loyalty to God, not to the ways of this world. May the integrity of our hearts distance us from the perverseness around us and may God give us His attributes of loyalty and justice.

Lord our God, we sing of Your love and justice. Come to us. Help us to live blamelessly. We pray to You, Lord our God, to manifest in our lives the attributes of loyalty and justice. Cause the integrity of our hearts to distance us from the perverseness around us.
