Obey the Lord Who is Worthy of Praise (verses 17-22)
17But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is
with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.
19The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.
20Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
21Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.
22Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.
21Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.
22Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
While now this world is under the authority
of the prince of the world, ultimately it will come under the authority of our
Lord Jesus Christ. Yet even now God is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Since
His Lordship is universal: over all time,
over all places, and over all creatures, may all our praise center on God.
May we hear angels chant the praises of God, as the shepherds did on that night
of birth. May we bless Him through our obedience and spend our days praising the
King of the universe.
Thank You, Lord our God, that Your steadfast
love is from everlasting to everlasting. You, Lord, have established Your
throne in the heavens, and Your kingdom rules over all. With the angels in
heaven we bless You, Lord. Help us to obey the voice of Your Word! All praise
to You, O Lord!
Plenteous grace with thee is found,
Grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound,
Make and keep me pure within.

Wesley (1707-1788)
