The Judgment of God (Psalm 82, Part 3)

The Cry from Earth (verse 8)

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2082:8&version=NIV

We invite the Judge of all mankind to rid the world of corruption. The time will come when all peoples will accept God as King. Christ’s second advent is earth’s brightest hope. May we sing this song to Him in joyful hope, urging Him to come quickly.

Arise, O God, judge the earth; for You shall inherit all the nations! We praise You that You are the Judge because You have compassion on all peoples. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Our American society with its faulty administration of justice needs to consider this psalm. Rich litigants influence our courts. We pray that our leaders will exercise their authority in godlike ways. We pray that our courts issue just decisions, tempered with mercy.

Arm me with jealous care,
As in Thy sight to live,
And O, Thy servant, Lord, prepare
A strict account to give!
Charles Wesley (1707-1788)
