Worship the Lord (Psalm 96, Part 2)

The King’s Due: Ascribe to the Lord (verses 7-10 )

7Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
         ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
8Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
      bring an offering and come into his courts.
9Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness;
      tremble before him, all the earth.
10Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
      The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
      he will judge the peoples with equity.

The entire universe joins in giving glory to God. All honor and glory are due to our Creator, Preserver, Benefactor, and Redeemer. Because He judges with righteousness and truth, His judgments set things right. Because of his death on the cross, Jesus Christ, our Savior, reigns from the tree as our Lord. May we proclaim the good news of God’s kingdom.

We ascribe to You, Lord our King, the glory due Your Name; we worship You in the splendor of Your holiness; we tremble before You. We say among the nations, “You, Lord, reign!” Thank You that You established this world. Thank You that You will judge all peoples with equity.
