Longing for God (Psalm 63, Part 1)

Sometimes it takes a crisis for us to long for God. As emptiness opens in our souls, we long for God to fill it. May we express our longing for God and place all our confidence in Him.

God our Desire (verse 1-4)

In this spiritually dry and parched land of Jefferson County may we desire God as our only source of satisfaction. Why do we thirst so little for the things of God, and so much for worldly wealth? May we seek first the kingdom of God and all else shall be added to us. May our view of God’s glory crucify our lusts and nourish our humility. May our worship make us aware of the surpassing value of God’s love, which is better than life itself.

God our desire, earnestly we seek You. We, Your body in the dry and parched land of Jefferson County, desire You. Give us a glimpse of Your power and glory. Because Your love is better than life, our lips will glorify You. We will praise You as long as we live.
