Trust in God’s Salvation (verses 5-8)

Only when we focus on God does the raging storm around us recede. As we trust in God’s salvation. He will protect and defend us. In the midst of persistent noise—televisions, radios, cell phones and iPods—we need times of quiet rest. We need to pray and listen to God. Our faith is strengthened in adversity, but our prosperity also tests our faith. Worldly wealth and success deceive us. May we trust in God alone, not in ourselves, casting our burdens on Him.

Our soul finds rest in You, God; our hope comes from You. You are our rock and our salvation; you are our fortress, we will not be shaken. Our salvation and honor depend on You, God. We trust in You; we pour out our hearts to You, for You are our refuge.
