Why Do Evil People Prosper (Psalm 73), Part 2

Seeing the Big Picture (verses 7-15)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2073:7-14&version=NIV

Evil people enjoy lives of ease and plenty, living above the frustrations of life. They curse people and blaspheme God by arguing that if God exists, He doesn’t notice, and if He does notice, He simply doesn’t care. Yet they are popular. Why do right when those who do wrong thrive? What is the purpose in suffering for God’s sake? Justice seems turned upside down. God’s way to heaven is through affliction and persecution. May we turn from our self-interest and self-pity to caring for others.

Lord our God, help us to take our focus off those around us and place our focus on You. Thank You that You know and You see. Help us not to live at the expense of others. Keep our hearts pure and protect our innocence, even in our afflictions. Keep us from betraying You and Your children.
